the slums

I left the base like after 5 days of being there, yes it was a very short time. But hey, what can i say, im going with gods leading...so now im here in the slums of nairobi. im staying with a lady named ester from the church. shes the church secretary/treasuer (sp). i will be helping over the next two weeks to teach kids here in the preschool. afterwards im going to go to new life home. it deals with babies who have aids and plus. other than that, life is good.
ive realized how much your smile affects people. a man said 'they can see it.' 'see what?' 'the joy on your face, it makes them happy.' that pretty much touched my heart because its true. i have had since then, nothing but joy flowing out of me. i have got nothing to complain about honestly. i love squatty pottys..ya weird i know but they're so much better than western toilets. less germ-y. :)
i thought i didnt like cantalope and banannas. whow was i wrong haha they are so yummy here! maybe cuz they arnt full of pasterized, chemicals and also arnt controlled the way that they grow. anywho lifes good :) gods good.
