Well sadly, the internet has been down for almost a week. So I have not been able to update. But I am very estatic that its back up because I simply cant survive without the internet it seems. Seriously, is like going without water. ;)
So, things have been good but too hot for my fragile body and also too muddy/rainy for my little feet haha. Just kidding. But the kenyans thing that its cold in the evenings so they wear sweaters. It confuses me. But I yet again confuse them as well cuz then they wonder why im not cold. Its pretty much a laughing matter because we make fun of each other. ;) its so much fun. But its the rainy season, so then they wonder why i dont have rainboots...well then i wonder myself why too. it can be so muddy here at times, depending where you are. I dont like it when it rains at night because the misquitos <- (spelt that wrong, time to go back to school) come out. Haha! Then they wonder why I have red spots on my arms.. and they also wonder why i burn. i guess God knew i was going to be born in south dakota so he planned me white.
So the reason why i put the title 'different perceptions' .. i have come across something very interesting. Did you know that being an american and being someone who does NOT like to argue about politics...that its the worst time for me to be in this country ;D haha all i hear is Obama. im not going to bring my personal thoughts on this. But what im going to do is open up your mind to what i experience here.
Basically, this is how it is. The reasons why the kenyans are for Obama: 1. Hes from a descendant of a kenyan 2. hes 'young blood'
thats why the outbreaks of violence occured in the last election here. the young people wanted the younger guy to be president because hes young and not old. so i try to open up the kenyans minds....wisely ofcourse. i ask them why they dont think mcain would be good... reason: hes old. i ask them why they would want obama. you then get the same reasons as i stated above. Soooooo... heres the thing, i then ask them who would do better economically and then i go on from there. I said that the reason i vote is so we can have a good leader for our country. the thing that makes him good is what he does for it. What does he stand for? what are his morals and values? are they valuable to the humanity of america? all of this interests me when i talk to them about the issue... but it normally comes right down to it.... 'who are you going to vote for?' i then say that i dont like to argue cuz no matter who i vote for its going to cause an issue in america. cuz people are all different that is. they either go for obama or for mcain. either way its going to strike contraversy so i keep my opinion to myself. and thats all there is to it. to me all of it is super interesting, but at the same time it gets on my nerves. cuz i HATE talking about it all the time. i really do.. so i just laugh with them and say 'i just want a new president already so all of this stops' haha! Anyways. So thats a bit about what i have been encountering. I also make them laugh by bringing up the pope.. hes old. 'So what' they say and i just laugh and shake my head.
