Awhile back, I was asked by my parents if I would like to go to the D.R. aka Dominican Republic. I was unsure cuz I have had so much stuff going on recently to really clear my mind and pray about it. It looks as if my parents and my younger brother are going.
I gave them a yes :) yaay so, its June 3rd-11th. They will finish building a baseball field and I cant want to hang out and play with the kids! O boy do they steal my heart. :) I'm excited. So after I get back on the 28th of March, I will be in Rapid for a couple months. I am excited about that because I want to go to Destiny soooooo bad! Haha yes, I do miss it there. Lots.
So anywho, it will be worth it. I only need 1,480 for the trip, which isn't much, (to me) but I would like to work when I get back for a couple of months.. it just puts me down a little bit.. because my old job has laid off so many people and they are not hiring. Please pray that I find one when I get back.
In other news, I am back from New Orleans. What an experience. There was pretty much story after story. I did put a bit on here though about it. I will throw out a couple more here. Only because God is exciting!! :D
Here are a couple ending stories:
Elizabeth is her name. Shes a catholic but she reads tarot cards. (its the only way that she makes money) We had so many amazing conversations, I never pressed God onto her or into the conversation intentionally. I saw her every single day while i was there except one. I really wanted to see her before I left and an hour before we had to go, I saw her. Shes obsessed with Johnny Depp and with me. :) In the best way possible. She always lit up when she saw me because she quote on quote 'has never met anyone who has never shoved anything down her throat before.' But she blessed me beyond measure.
Mama Rose is her name. Shes says shes '71, a drunk and a dope head.' She has the most incredible sense of humor of an older woman. Shes been on the streets for 45 years and was married for 38. Shes sweet yet spicy. She will cuss out anyone who doesn't say hello to her going by but,... she then says 'I'm just kidding baby.' She did make me whole heartedly laugh though. I got to get her a cup of coffee and whatever else she really needed. I knew not to give her money cuz she would just buy money to shoot up again. :/ Sad but true. I really got the chance to speak into her life and as well as pray for her. Shes so stubborn too. Just like me. Every time she saw me she would just get to happy to see me and told me that she loves me. Which always made my heart warm.
These are just some of the main things personally, that happened with me. I met wonderful people, strange/odd ones, crazy out of their minds, people of all walks of life. At first I was a bit apprehensive when it came to the day we left,...it reminded me of some of my past and I didn't want to go,..but then I realized how much that i could help these people but relating to them..and meeting them with where they are at.
It was completely worth it :)
